Schenectady, June 27, 2022 – Liz Joy the Republican candidate for New York’s 20th Congressional District announced the endorsement of The Police Benevolent Association of the New York State Troopers (NYSTPBA), which represents more than 6,000 active and retired, uniformed members of the New York State Police from the rank of Trooper through the rank of Major.

“The challenges facing members of the law enforcement community are greater than ever before, and we need individuals like Liz Joy in leadership positions to help law enforcement officers better serve the residents of New York State,” said Thomas Mungeer, President of The Police Benevolent Association of the New York State Troopers.

Liz Joy welcomed the prominent endorsement saying, “I’m honored to have the support of incredible men and women of The State Troopers PBA and appreciate their faith in me. The job of law enforcement has never been harder, and we must combat crime by supporting our police and first responders. As a witness to domestic violence, and a victim of a violent assault, as well as New York’s radical bail reform laws, I understand the urgent need for change.”

In addition, Joy’s commitment to addressing the skyrocketing crime rate in the Capitol Region has garnered support from other prominent Law Enforcement organizations across New York. These endorsements include: The New York State Law Enforcement Officers Union, Council 82 which represents over 3,000 Police Officers, Deputy Sheriffs, County Correction Officers, State Correction Lieutenants, Emergency Dispatchers, and other Public Safety personnel across New York State and the Schenectady Police Benevolent Association.
