Schenectady, NY – Today, The Albany, New York Police Benevolent Association (PBA) endorsed Liz Joy, who is running for Congress in New York’s 20th Congressional District against Paul Tonko.

“With violent crime rates drastically on the rise in the City of Albany and around the country, we need dedicated leaders and Representatives like Liz Joy in Congress. We are confident she will support our law enforcement officers with the necessary resources, in order to better serve the people of New York’s 20th Congressional District,” said Officer Michael Delano, President of the Albany, NY PBA.

Delano concluded, “Albany Police Officers and Detectives are dedicated to the safety and security of the residents we serve and are committed to our city. In order to provide these needed services, we must have a representative that partners with us and works at the Federal level to help provide funding and grants to increase staffing, equipment, and training for our officers. Liz Joy has proven herself committed to the needs of the law enforcement community and departments. It is with careful consideration that the Albany Police Benevolent Association is endorsing Liz Joy for election to U.S. Congress, New York 20th District.”

Liz Joy welcomed the endorsement saying, “I’m incredibly honored to have the support of the men and women of the Albany PBA. Working in law enforcement has never been harder. Not only has there been a drastic rise in all types of crime throughout Albany, but my opponent Paul Tonko is not offering any support to those who are working tirelessly to keep us safe. There must be urgent change.” Liz Joy has received six prominent Law Enforcement endorsements. Paul Tonko has received none.
